Fun place with lots of charm.
We had this property recommended to us and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. If you are looking for a fun get away with some great peace and quite this is the place. Staff were great, breakfast was excellent, and the town fun. While you are there take time to visit the historical museum.
If climbing stairs is a problem, book one of the cottages.

Breakfast was great!
Website was a little misleading..Thought we were getting a private balcony but it wasn’t really one & it was all closed up with lattice . It was also too expensive for what we got. The lady did say to book directly with them next time & it would be cheaper.
The grounds were an overgrown mess, vines every where covering landscape hedges. Grass high. The owner chose to share with me her telephone bills with AT&T. Which was none of my business. Owner kept repeating questions we had answered several times. I believe she was on something. She put me and my husband three floors up in a room so small you have to walk sideways to get in to the bed. The entire manion was empty. We were the only guests . We left one hour after we arrived and chose to not stay there.

The house was beautiful, loved the welcome wine, and the oatmeal cookies were delicious. Breakfast was fantastic, the room and bathroom was clean and comfortable.
The bed was ok, it was a little to soft for us. other than that everything was great!
Next time, we need to stay in main house. Need to figure out how to get luggage up stairs. Pump house is not our preferr
Main house nicely appointed- nice dining room and sit out front porch.
Door to the pump house had large open space at the floor which allowed ‘creepy crawlers’ in. Need more than 1 set of towels/pp for 2 day stay. No shower cap. Only 1 chair in pump house. Need 2 luggage racks if only 1 chair.
Perfect place to stop & explore
The atmosphere was so calm. The property was so beautiful. The staff were welcoming. We loved having red wine on arrival. The breakfast was amazing.
Beautiful home with much history in a very historical setting. Many things in walking distance. Breakfast each morning was fabulous. Even offered wine on arrival.
Small bathroom. Shower head hard to adjust. I was with other people with larger rooms. They had large bathrooms with great showers. he cheaper rooms upstairs were roomy, with great beds and plenty of space, but shower was small. There was a large bathtub. I just did not use it. Took a while for water to get hot, but good once it did.
Close, clean, friendly staff, friendly guests, easy access, loved it!

If you want to go back in time, and be surrounded by beautiful, old Florida this is the place.
The breakfast was very good. Fresh fruit with yogurt, carrot cake muffins, and an egg, ham, and cheese croissant. It was just right. The small, personal dining room is set with vintage china. The furniture is all vintage oak. It is very cozy. This was our first time staying in the Herlong Suite, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Open the glass doors and walk right out onto the huge upstairs balcony. I am not aware of any other place like it.
This was our second stay at the Herlong Mansion. I can honestly say that there is nothing I did not like. This is a historical monument circa 1845, so there's not a lot of dazzling electronics, no in-room TV's or telephones, just nice, quiet, comfortable surroundings. There are fresh flowers in the lobby every day, and the staff is just amazing.

A most Wonderful Experience
The staff and Owner Kim were all great and the history and charm of the house was incredible. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back and visit again.
Typical older antebellum home. Low water pressure but, not a big problem. Showers had plenty of pressure and were great with plenty of hot water.

Our first night we had a very small bedroom and the bed was not in great shape. The second night we switched rooms and had a wonderful room. Everyone there is very nice, and the owner came from the town of Davie just like me.

Breakfast was simple but savory.
The room we had reserved through Booking.com had no windows at all. This is not mentioned in the room description. The owner offered to upgrade for a steep price, which we had to accept. Even though we requested a room on the 2d floor, our room was on the 3rd floor (though 2d floor was free). No decorations in the room, very basic furniture.
