Has potential
We stayed in the cottage. The location was beautiful and the view breathtaking. Our host Jeff was lovely, prepared a light healthy breakfast each day and always had a recommendation for our day trips. At first glance, the cottage was nicely furnished and neat. However, we were disappointed and felt uncomfortable due to the lack of cleanliness of the bathroom, kitchenette and cabinets. The drinking glasses had obvious marks from previous guests. A dirty vacuum cleaner was in the middle of the bedroom closet. If you plan to arrive by a nice car, you should know that Whitford House can only be reached by an unpaved road.

Beautiful guest house - spacious with modern amenities but old, rural charm in keeping with the country setting. Extensive grounds furnishing privacy and Mountain View’s. Attentive host. Delicious breakfast provided.

Our trip started off a little rocky since Orbitz has the wrong address listed for the Whitford B&B. However, when we called Jeff he was helpful in guiding us to the correct location and understanding of our tardiness for check in. The farmhouse itself is fantastic; Jeff explained some of the history behind the farmhouse and his future plans for the property. Breakfast was all organic products and I thoughouly enjoyed the steel cut oats with added fresh vermont maple syrup. Jeff and his wife, were great hosts proving all we could ask for, with top quality vermont products. It was a lovely weekend, that went by too quickly! Thank you for having us stay in your unique and amazing property!

Averages for Cornwall, VT, 9 miles away. Mountains and lakes can still make it a few degrees different at the stay.
Best time to goMay to September
In September: highs around 71°F, lows near 49°F, rain or snow on about 6 days. Pack light clothes, plus a layer for the evenings; a light rain jacket won't hurt.
