We enjoyed our stay at the Adirondack Spruce Lodge.

Beautiful common area with a fireplace for relaxing in the evening and for enjoying breakfast. Caretaker was very friendly and promptly replied to our texts. We enjoyed our visit to the chocolate shop across the street!

Husband would have preferred a firmer mattress, but I slept fine!

No one in the property for check in purposes. We couldn't open the door with the code send to us by text, so we had to call and get further instructions. Also, we only had one roll of toilet paper for a three night stay. Again, we had to call for it. They said they would send someone, but no one ever came, and we ended up buying our own toilet paper. Other than that, we were very pleased with the facilities.

A true gem in the hospitality industry!

We stayed for just one night, but left with wonderful memories. The motel is in immaculate condition. It feels like a breath of fresh air in the American hospitality industry. The comfort and attention to detail reminded us of hotels in the mountain resorts of Austria, Italy, and Switzerland: European-quality finishes and fixtures, with a simple yet harmonious interior. The split-system air conditioner deserves special mention: it runs quietly in every mode. That is unusual for American hotels, where the bulky units beneath the windows often sound like an airliner at takeoff thrust. Breakfast was a particular highlight. Since the pandemic, paper plates, plastic utensils, frozen foods, and products with seemingly endless shelf lives have become common in many American hotels. Here, we found proper tableware, good coffee, and, most importantly, natural farm products: butter, milk, yogurt with live cultures, jams, and honey. The eggs seemed so fresh that they could have come straight from the henhouse. For us, this was a truly delightful surprise. We sincerely wish the family who runs this motel—and whom we unfortunately did not have a chance to meet—every success and continued prosperity. Thank you for your care for your guests and your commitment to quality!

We found a great base camp to support our future Adirondack adventures!

The breakfast was terrific. There was a very good granola available, which reminded me how much I like granola. I've been eating a high quality granola for breakfast just about everyday since I returned home. The location is also really nice, about as close as you can get to the entrance to the Veterans Memorial Highway which takes you to the summit of Whiteface Mountain (seasonal) for spectacular views. When I visit again, I will definitely bring my bicycle! It is also a wonderful car ride to the top for anyone, but I do like to challenge myself. Our destination on this visit was The Wild Center in Tupper Lake (also very highly recommend!) the following morning, which is about 40 minutes away, but convenient enough for the way my wife and I like to travel.

Part was still under construction- but all for good!

The staff and the furnishings of the room could not have been better! The only drawback was the construction that is being done on part of the building. It took away from the appearance especially when you first arrived. We have no doubt it will be a five-star rating when that construction is done. The attention to detail is amazing!
