Lovely stay, wish it was longer
We greatly enjoyed our one night at Steeles Tavern Manor and just wish we could have stayed longer. The B&B is lovely - our room was clean, airy, spacious and comfortable. Thoughtful touches in the room included water in the fridge, "clean off" towels for muddy boots or clothes, robes, and chocolates by our bedside. The dining area had coffee and tea and snacks available throughout the day. Our breakfast was excellent - hearty and lots of good choices made with local products. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub at the end of the day. Sandra and Anna were welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to a return trip!
Beautiful property and great place to stay
We’ve stayed at this property several times in the past and always have a great experience here. This time was no exception! The innkeeper is constantly striving to make things better, and some really nice changes have been made over the past year. For example, there are numerous choices for breakfast now. Everything Sandra had served us had been delicious, too. Highly recommend!
Anniversary weekend
We came here for two nights for an anniversary weekend and stayed in the Shenandoah room. The room was very well appointed, comfortable and spacious. We did use their pool out first afternoon which was very refreshing and we opted to do a steak dinner there our first night. You need to let them know if you opt for this at least 5 days ahead. We enjoyed this along with the wine we brought along. The next evening, we had dinner at Mill Street grill in Staunton. Amazing ribs and drinks. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and during the day we found yummy baked treats in their dining room area to enjoy. The hospitality was very warm and I would recommend staying at this place!
One word-Perfect!
On opening door to Leopold suite a feeling of relaxation takes over. Wonderful linens and robes, tiled shower and adjoining sitting room. Sandra went out of her way to accommodate our dietary needs for a fabulous breakfast. Grounds are lovely with accessible walking path.
Beautiful bed and breakfast!
Steeles Tavern was the perfect bed and breakfast spot with our friends. The house was beautifully decorated and so cozy. All of our rooms were so comfortable, clean, and romantic. Sandra and her assistants were always available for anything that we needed. The breakfasts were so fresh and yummy! We also enjoyed a delicious group dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Added bonus: having a beautiful backyard area with a pool and hot tub! I can’t recommend this property enough! Thanks Sandra for an unforgettable weekend!
Weekend couples getaway
Enjoyed a wonderful two night stay with my husband at the Ivy cabin. Lovely view from the front porch. Cabin was nicely renovated, very clean, and had everything we needed. It was secluded and quiet. Breakfast at the Manor was delicious. Had the chia pudding (yum!) and avocado toast with farm-fresh eggs. Husband had a western omelette and yogurt parfait. Coffee cake was delicious! Spent a day hiking from Crabtree Falls up to the AT then enjoyed a soak in the hot tub. Only complaint was the skylight above the bed in our cabin-I had trouble sleeping in but this might not be the case for everyone. Overall, an excellent experience. Highly recommend the Steele Manor Tavern.
Overnight Luxury at Steeles Tavern Manor
We were returning home in SC from the Finger Lakes and needed a luxury respite from the long drive. The dinner and local wine were fabulous. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. The Manor and our room were spotless and inviting. Sandra, the innkeeper is not only a talented chef, she is warm and friendly and highly organized making our visit as relaxing as we had hoped for and needed. Steeles Tavern Manor B&B is easy to get to from I-81 and is very quiet. The shared spaces were comfortable and inviting.

A Great Getaway
The Inn was just as portrayed online. The rooms are great and the meals are outstanding! The location gives you easy access to access to local sites and activities.
Wonderful
The sunset cottage is wonderful. We've stayed there many times and will return again. The cottages are so cozy and romantic. This stay was our 35th anniversary. Couldn't pick a better place. Has everything you could need to make a great weekend.
A nice romantic stay
Friendly and knowledgeable host! A lovely place to be.
Beautiful Getaway
Ivy cabin is beautiful, clean and private. We enjoyed the amazing view from the front porch & we also loved the secluded back deck with hot tub. The steak package was waiting for us upon arrival… so delicious ! We will return!
Great weekend get away
We went to Steels Tavern Manor for a two night weekend with friends and had a wonderful time. The house was beautifully decorated, very clean, well maintained grounds, and the breakfast each morning was outstanding! Sandra was a wonderful host. We highly recommend Steele’s Tavern Manner.
Perfect Shenandoah Hideout!
A fabulous weekend getaway for us! We had one of the cabins with a spectacular view across the valley. The cabin was spotless and very modern! The breakfasts were wonderful. Great experience.
Wonderful, historic inn!
We were the only guests at the Inn on a Tuesday night a couple of weeks ago, and all we can say is, WOW! Sandra took such great care of us, from her warm welcome to a delicious dinner of soup, salad and apple crisp. We both slept over 9 hours on a bed like a cloud, with beautiful linens and pillows. The bathroom is totally new and has everything supplied. We enjoyed a leisurely morning, with Sandra spoiling us with a delicious, homemade breakfast. Thanks for a wonderful visit! We will be back!
Country charm
Despite the change in ownership, Steeles Tavern Manor retains the charm and personalized service for anyone looking for a gem in the beautiful Virginia countryside. The rooms are immaculate and the food exquisite. I can’t recommend it more strongly.
Exceptional Bed and Breakfast 👍
We absolutely loved our three night stay at Steeles Tavern Manor! Whilst in the states we love to try different bed and breakfasts. Sandra is an exceptional innkeeper who keeps her eye not just on the bigger picture, but the important details that make such a difference. She is gifted at hospitality and made us feel my restricted diet was no trouble at all. We took advantage of the local steaks one evening which were delicious. Sandra had made sure we had everything we needed to have a special dinner together. Breakfasts were yummy with a savoury or sweet option to please everybody. Our room was pristinely clean and beautifully decorated. Mattress comfy. I cannot say enough good things about this b and b.
Always a nice stay
We have stayed in the Mountain View cabin twice (both summer) and the Treetop cabin once (February). We love the modern feel of each cabin. We have taken advantage of the breakfast like a local package each time and highly recommend. I have to eat gluten free, so I bring some bread or GF pancake mix, but my husband enjoys the mix in the package and the muffins. We bring a pot pie from home for our dinners, and just get lunch while we explore Lexington, Staunton, hike or whatever. This time we took advantage of the new spa and got a couples massage. Both therapists were lovely and it was a delightful way to wrap up Valentine’s Day!
Steeles Tavern will steal your heart.
Delightful B&B located between Staunton VA and Lexington VA. Innkeeper Sandra makes your stay memorable. We have stayed several times over the past 30 years and are never disappointed. Our most recent visit was over Valentine's weekend. A delicious Valentine's Dinner was available in-house and was wonderful. The included Breakfast was tasty and filling. Lots of things to do in the immediate area be it Antiques, wineries, brewery or just driving around the mountains keep you invigorated. A must-visit jewel
