Location, price, and staff communication.
The path to access the cabin was hazardous. Loose stones, uneven steps and shaky wood railing along path. Cabin at least needs some hooks to hang clothes on in bedrooms. We stayed here in the past and our cabin was nice. I would not request birds nest cabin again.
Wonderful place far from everything but quiet
Old style and water
Location
Beautiful area with lovely staff.
Wonderful continental style.
Expected a suite with a small kitchen and couch. Was a bedroom and bath. We did appreciate the 2 chairs and table. Washed our dishes in bathroom sink.
It was a one night getaway in a quiet location up in the mountains and was just what we needed.
We so enjoyed staying in a place surrounded by so much history. It all has been left so natural on the outside but Inside the cabin was modern and so comfortable. We had everything we needed. The spring water was a treat as well.
Keep not putting tv s in the rooms. Love the peacefulness
Keeping it original with modern updates
Satisfying
Uniqueness.! Quietness
Very nice relaxing getaway even with no tv lol
Host was very sweet and welcoming
Our coffee maker didn’t work well but that’s about it
It was a wonderful trip . Hopefully will do it again in the near future.
Just what we was looking for in a weekend getaway.
It’s a great location with deep History. The rooms were very clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Having to leave.
Cozy little cabin. Staff was excellent!
The house keeper needs to do better
The location
Was a very peaceful place
The stream was breath taking
Not fancy but clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. We stayed in cabin 2 Hummingbird . Loved the fireplace and the bed was super.
Needs a lot of deep cleaning or painting . It was okay for what we needed .
Peace
Experience the Peace of God!
Fair price for this place. We won’t there back.
Location is in historical landmark. Near Grayson Highlands State Park. Peaceful. Beautiful nature, small creek.
The water has unpleasant scent, because of the healing springs. We wish the cabin was more cleaner and more lighter.
Nice and secluded Getaway
Loved the character of the cabin. It had a lot of the original including the fireplace but all the wonderful comforts that you expect from a high end hotel. I talked with the owners on the phone and they were exceptionally nice. They were not around while I was there. I saw some of the help out and about and they went out of the way to be very helpful. The healing springs water is wonderful! Make sure you have some type of container to pump some in. They actually have gallon jugs of it for sale!
The cabin we were in had a small bathroom with a nice size shower but, the base jutted out and I tripped while carrying something and did not see it. Everyone was great other than when I went to check in and the person working the desk came in and said I was too early and would have to come back in 35 mins. I said, " I will just sit here and wait, if that's ok. She just seemed very agitated with me and not very nice. Everyone else was totally amazing. Maybe she just had a bad day.
Nice for relaxation. Love it!
Hidden gem!
I absolutely loved this place! It was rustic and charming. The check-in was so easy, as was check-out. Communication from the owners was terrific. The location was quiet and it was nice to sit on the porch and listen to the creek. The outside of the cabins might need a little TLC. The bonus was the history of this place! People used to come from all over in the late 1800's and early 1900's to drink water from the spring, which was said to have healing properties. The hotel that used to be there burned down, but the cabins remain. What was cool was that I read about Healing Springs (the old hotel) in a museum display years ago and it was such a a cool surprise to learn that these cabins are one in the same. I would definitely stay here again and I've already recommended it to friends. Oh! And you can go get yourself some water from the spring while you're there!
