RyanSolo traveller · October 2026★ 5.0Incredible Place. Check it out!
Had an awesome solo stay at Laurel River Club B&B. Being out on an active regenerative farm, you’re completely immersed in the land. One highlight was hanging out with the two resident mules, who were curious, super friendly, and great company. If you fish, this spot is paradise. And at night, there's zero light pollution—just God’s sky exactly as it was meant to be seen. The price might look a little steep upfront for primitive glamping, but the second you get out there, you get it. The peace, privacy, and setting make it worth every cent. I'll definitely be back.

We stayed in the glamping dome- very cool experience and beautiful surrounding. We fell asleep to the sound of the river running.

Large bedroom and clean bathroom.
Accessing the property involved traveling narrow, treacherous roads with no guard rails and steep drop offs. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got there. There was no air conditioning and we were overcharged for a dinner that was taken out of the freezer and warmed up because we were so upset about the roads. A family of four and her husband also ate dinner with us. However, we were not informed there would be a charge for dinner until we were ready to leave the next morning. Breakfast was a disappointment because we had scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and a dry biscuit ….. no yogurt, fruit, juices or cereals and we ate in the kitchen on barstools. We were not treated like special guests. There’s one simple word to describe our entire unfortunate stay and that is “short changed.” Guests fail to receive what they deserve. We would not return nor recommend for other guests.

It felt like an adventure with the windy roads of the approach to quiet hamlet.
JohnCouple · August 2026★ 4.5I would stay in this lovely and interesting place again and we are recommending it to our friends. The B and B manager
I loved the whole ambience with all of the beautiful open space and views with the river an easy walk. The animals were were so much fun to watch and the weather was delightful. Loved the old house and the bed was extremely comfortable.
It was a little for us as an older couple to navigate the narrow and curvy mountain roads. We got lost once because the GPS wasn’t working as there was no wifi as soon as you got away from the property. Be sure to have plenty of gas (we do have a Prius with 45 miles to the gallon) before you attempt the ride to the house.

FrederickAugust 2025★ 5.0Lovely B and B in a stately, historic house. Marsha is an excellent host. The food is excellent and most comes from their working farm or other WV farms. The surrounding property is beautiful. My room was spacious and comfortable.
Peaceful hidden GEM!
This is a 1905 Victorian farmhouse (ie 1905 Victorian in middle of farm 😆). Beautiful, serene that takes you back in time. Only note is that there are 2 bathrooms for the 4 bedrooms - again house from 1905… well kept and they had a great library if you wanted to checked out plants/birds/mushrooms/etc… for the area. Marsha was great and had lots of suggestions. We’ll plan a longer stay next time. Photo was shot from balcony next to our room.

It felt like home. Getting to show my grand children what getting back to nature is all about was priceless. My grandchildren could not wait to get back every evening and play outside and visit the animals. My granddaughter even became great friends with the daughter of the family. We are hoping for a return visit soon.
Absolutely nothing
