This has to be the most beautiful and well appointed place in all of Talkeetna and for a fair price!

The location was amazing. Sunset views incredible. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and even upgraded us to a cabin for one of the two times we stayed. We were totally willing to pay the upgrade on the 2nd stay because it was so worth it!! My husband's favorite place on our 3 week drive! You could see 2 of the biggest mountains and just a short distance to view entire range, even Denali. Also very trusting to leave lobby open for hot drinks overnight and free umbrellas too!

Very thin walls and could hear the next door neighbor coughing and blowing his nose loudly all night long

The king-size bed in the small loft meant that we had to leave our luggage downstairs, which was a little inconvenient.

The bed was a little too soft for me. But all was good.

A Spacious Room for the Night

We stayed in a loft within the main lodge. Being that we arrived after 4 PM and left the following day before 11 AM we never saw anyone at the front deck. Interacting with someone would have been nice but not a make-or-break. Our room was large and very comfortable, however with the loft well, lofted it's a but hard to enjoyed the breeze from the river at night. We had the fans running and while the bed was comfortable sleeping was difficult. We were able to whip up breakfast in the morning thanks to the provided electric griddle. All in all, would recommend.

Would have loved to speak with staff on-site. Would have also been great if there was a better means for cooling our room but fully understand it's Alaska and air conditioning was uncommon. One last note, I thought it would be walkable to town and it likely is but not something we opted for given the mosquitos, etc.

We rented suite 1 and it was far beyond expectations. It was spotless, huge and had all of the amenities plus a fabulous deck with the best view of the river. Bev & Highly recommend this Lodge.

Good for short stay but need a car for remote location

Room was spacious and comfortable for an overnight stay.

Location was not in town. Not convenient if you are coming in by train/motorcoach and don’t have a car.

Nice and quaint. It was comfy and well maintained by a wholesome staff.

Susitna River Lodge is a beautiful property right on the river.

The property is beautiful, the lodge is very comfortable, staff is friendly, and check in/out was a breeze. I look forward to staying longer next time I am in Alaska.

It was advertised with a seperate entrance, which I thought meant an outside entrance. It was in a building, up a flight of stairs, with an inside door.

Calming place next to the river just outside of Talkeetna

Nice location next to the river although the lodge is close to the main road. The unit we had was in the main building, and it was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. They left the key and instructions as we arrived after office hours and it worked fine.

We could hear the conversation in the unit next to us as there is a shared wall that’s apparently not well insulated.

The lodge was very comfortable and homey. The staff was superb! They were super helpful with a couple of issues we had.
