Overall, excellent facilities. We hope to be back.

So clean and well maintained. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you would need to cook in.

Wish there was a restaurant nearby. We had to drive 8-10 miles for dinner.

Beautiful spot

HarrietExtended group · August 2026★ 5.0

Lovely, serene, the view from our room was majestic, the room was beautifully appointed.

The coffee shop was pleasant; the staff were polite and friendly. More breakfast options would be welcome.

Not having access to staff during the night in case of an emergency. The manager of the property was on call which was great but unfair to her. Having more assistance would provide security for all of the guests.

Quiet quaint gorgeous waterfront resort!

This is seriously my new favorite place on the San Juan’s, and I’ve been up here a thousand times. Can’t believe it took me this long to find Snug Harbor! This is a beautiful quaint little family run oasis on Mitchell Bay. There are hotel style rooms, and private cabins. We stayed in a private cabin on the waterfront for our anniversary this year. The cabins are stunning. Everything was super clean. You have a full kitchen and appliances should you want to cook, even equipped with a BBQ outside! There’s a small living space, and the bathroom felt like a luxury spa! The shower had pebbled floorings which were so nice. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable and not to mention pitch black which was amazing for sleep! We slept with all windows open at night and slept great with the cool air and again I can’t stress enough how quiet the property is. My favorite part is the windows at the front looking at the water and the little sitting nook by the kitchen. I sat there or in the chairs out front for most of our trip just admiring the water and stillness. So pretty! There’s a little greenery area for sitting, play lawn games, or fire pits for smores. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for use during the day which was a nice amenity. My favorite part is their water system that’s fully treated and maintained by them. Because of it the shower water is so soft and serene, and the drinking water is amazing straight from the tap! This was a 10/10 stay from top to bottom, and we already can’t wait to come back!

Amazing and Calm Resort

It was a very nice, calm, and tranquil resort. The cabins were comfy and spacious, including front and back space to sun tan! The lake is beautiful, with kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards available to rent at no cost. The staff were kind and the cleaners were experienced. It truly was a gem.

Awesome stay

Honestly, this place is amazing. The view is incredible as you wake up to the sunlight sparkling on the water. We had a daily seal sightings in the harbor as we drank our morning coffee. Everything was beautifully done in our accommodations. Don’ hesitate to book this place!

Picture Perfect

A perfect spot on San Juan Island! Adorable cottages, comfortable accommodations and amazing views. Beautiful grounds with gorgeous plantings. We absolutely love it! We had four adults and two kids in a two bedroom cottage.

The perfect stay on the water!!

My best friend and I stayed here for a long weekend, and it was exactly what we were looking for: quiet, safe, and beautiful sunsets on the harbor. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved sitting in the chairs scattered around the lawn, relaxing in the sun. Being right on the water, we saw so many birds! They also let you take out kayaks for free and provide free firewood for campfires. Such a cozy place. Highly recommend! :)

Beautiful setting in a remote place, you better bring food and ferry schedule!

We did not have breakfast, it is just a little coffee shop and not open at times during our stay.

The property is beautiful! Remote but lovely, with most everything one needs. Except for housekeeping. For the price of about $500.00/ night, I expect the room to be cleaned daily. Trash thrown out, dishes to be put in the dishwasher. Just a little tidying up. Before we arrived, communication was great, but once we were there, it is pretty much self serve. I wrote 2 e mails during our stay of 2 nights, they were not answered.

Beautiful resort to relax on San Juan Island

This is a great resort located on the northwest point of the island, close to Roche Harbor and short drive to Friday Harbor. The resort itself has private marina and includes small gift & grocery store, coffee place and kayaks for guest to use free of charge. We rented waterfront one bedroom cabin, which was conveniently located next to the shop and outdoor fire pits. We had couple adirondack chairs and grill outside to use as well. Inside, we had spacious living room & kitchen, small bedroom and beautiful bathroom with stand up shower. Wi-Fi worked great throughout the resort. The resort is quite secluded and quiet, perfect if you looking to relax and just enjoy some peace in nature.

worth the time to visit!

We stayed 3 nights in a rustic/modern stand alone cabin and enjoyed it immensely. Deer, rabbits, and birds visited- charming. Beds are comfortable, bathroom a bit cramped, but clean and well kept. Kitchen really is fully equipped. The quiet is amazing. Hosts were exceptionally welcoming. Seals hunting fish in the evening were fun to watch from comfortable seats on the shore. Wifi was reliable, except for one evening. Location is a 15 minute drive (beautiful!) across the island from town, where restaurants range from OK to very good. A couple of interesting stores/ groceries took care of food. There's a great bookstore (measure of a great town for us). We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Great place in a beautiful setting

Snug Harbor Resort is in a beautiful, quiet setting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is about a 20-minute drive from the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal and is conveniently located near the island's parks, hiking trails, farms, and more. We stayed in one of the cabins, and it was great--wonderful views, clean, well-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, toaster, tea kettle, etc. There are Adirondack chairs, cornhole, kayaks, firepits, and other amenities by the waterfront. It was a great place to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary.

We had a truly wonderful weekend. The weather was great and we had fun exploring the history and hiking nearby.

This is a charming location and very peaceful and beautiful location. A real gem of a find.

How one used kayaks was unclear.

Snug Harbor: A Secret Gem

Snug Harbor Resort is the secret gem of San Juan Island, Washington. With a quick drive from Friday Harbor, you are in a charming, restful, and beautiful place with lots to do (hiking, kayaking, biking if you wish). We rented a two-bedroom cabin: all have large picture windows and views of the marina, and are extremely comfortable, clean, and well equipped with basic cooking and serving utensils. The location is on the western side of the island, where the sunsets and water views are stunning. It's conveniently located for hiking up Mount Young near Roche Harbor, where we went afterwards to lunch at Madrone Bar; and then, on day two, to the Lime Kiln Preserve, where we watched for whales and walked in to learn about the history of the island's lime industry. We had a perfect weekend and would definitely like to go back.
